Structural steel is the foundation from which I build my art. My sculptures fluctuates between semi realistic representational figures, unconventional fabrication of common objects and abstract geometric architectural forms. I cut, bend and fasten the extruded, cast and roll formed stock shapes to create dynamic movement. Layering of materials such as cement, glass and wood depicts the building processes in modern construction. The use of post industrial waste and remnants in my art establishes a commentary on consumption. Through the use of texture and color the finishes evoke a variety of moods. My intent is to breathe life into the building materials and create sculptures that emit an energy and presence that is distinctly their own.

My children have reinvigorated my work. Their enthusiasm and inquisitiveness is infectious. Relating to them through my art has given it new meaning.
